Briarwood ...  Who We Are

Briarwood is a small kennel.  We raise WFT's purely for the love of the breed.  Our only purpose in producing an occasional new litter is to better the quality of our lineage.  Ours is a highly selective breeding program, taking into account the strengths, weaknesses and genetic value of each male and each female and their heredity through many generations.

Our Wires are considered part of our family.  Each dog has it's own indoor/outdoor run, plus house privileges, plus daily romps in the larger, fenced yard area where they chase the squirrels, dig for moles and challenge the evil water monsters (aka: water sprinklers).  Exercise, both  mentally and physically, is vital to the good health and temperament of these animals- whether in the show ring or as a family pet.

Some Wires have a propensity to bark excessively.  We've been very fortunate with our bloodlines.  Our Wires bark as a warning if something they perceive as threatening occurs.  They do not bark endlessly for no reason.  Like most Wires, ours are extremely intelligent and high energy- a combination that will keep you on your toes!

Every Wire Fox Terrier is unique.  And, as with people, each has their own distinctive personality and temperament.  We feel it very important to take these factors into account when placing a pup with a new family.  We like for prospective new owners to come to Briarwood, meet our dogs and spend some time with them.  Our goal is for every placement to be a match made in Heaven - and one that will last a lifetime.
